The increase in both bicycling and domestic outdoor recreational tourism has created a demand for small groups or families to plan their own weekend getaway that incorporates their new love of bicycling. These groups want to know more than just where they can ride. They also want to know where they can eat, sleep, and play.

An organization that receives the Bike Florida Business Designation has been vetted by the services and amenities specifically for bicyclists. Some examples are:

A coffee shop, restaurant, or bar providing a small discount on an order, a free appetizer, or drink (whatever is affordable).
Safe bicycle parking outside or inside your establishment. While a bike rack is preferred, it is not necessary. Some hotels allow guests to leave their bicycles in a secure room (such as an unoccupied conference room) on the first floor. Another option is to keep extra bike locks at the front counter of your business if a bicycling customer needs to use one.
Hotels and B&Bs providing a bagged breakfast or lunch for cyclists to take with them or opening breakfast a little early for orders.
Hotels providing shuttles for bicyclists and their bicycles to and from a select location so that the bicyclists do not need to ride on a busy road to reach the hotel.

Any organization can be part of this program, even if you are not part of the hospitality or tourism industry. If you want to be part of the program but aren't sure what you can do to accommodate bicyclists, fill out the application, and someone will be in touch to help flesh out some ideas.

Upon submitting your application, you will be redirected to our donation page, where we are asking for a minimum $50 donation to fund this project. This will cover your listing on our website and special features on our newsletter and social media channels.
